Paradise at Villa 32

Villa 32, a member of the luxurious Relais & Châteaux hotel group, is a secluded little natural hot spring resort located just next to the Geothermal Valley. Never before have I felt so posh and relaxed when strolling into the complex. Lined with fancy sport cars parked out front, the modern architecture of the villa was a blend of rustic zen garden and Tony Stark. Guests have the options to enjoy the public hot springs or book a private hot spring room. We opted for the more romantic option…in our own little sanctuary with the starry canopy above us. The in-room amenities were nothing short of impressive either, L’Occitane Provence toiletries were provided as well as Evian water to keep us kiddies hydrated. I would definitely recommend coming here in the evening as you can enjoy the Restaurant’s elaborate dinner menu, eaten with Hermès cutlery of course and most importantly, the stars!

We ended the night with a satisfying bowl of Taiwanese shaved milk ice at 3 Brothers.

Hot spring heaven in Beitou, Taipei

The little nymphs of Beitou’s magical mountains at Beitou MRT station.

We got to the museums a little too late so we only had enough time to get this picture before the place closed and we were kicked out. Saying hello with M’s indigenous Taiwanese relatives.

Also known as the “backyard of the city”, Beitou was a big change from the bustling metropolitan area of central Taipei. It was much quieter minus all the tourists eager to dip their toes into one of Taiwan’s natural hot springs. Instead of high rises, there were lush plants and trees lining the narrow streets.
